Bonaire Shore Excursions, by Sail

Docked in Kralendijk for the day? Go sailing.

Bonaire is one of the southern Caribbean's favourite ports of call, and the very best of the island — the reef, the turquoise shallows, Klein Bonaire — lies just off the coast you docked at. You don't need a bus tour to find it. You need a boat, a crew that respects your all-aboard time, and a morning on the water.

Our Sail & Snorkel shore excursion was built specifically for cruise guests. We depart Plaza Resort Marina — minutes from the cruise terminal — at 8:30 or 9:00 AM, sail along the Kralendijk coastline under real canvas, stop at a sheltered reef for 30–45 minutes of guided snorkelling, and have you back at the dock with a comfortable buffer before your ship sails.

Everything included, nothing complicated

The $49 per person covers the sail, high-grade snorkel gear, guides in the water with you, a light lunch and an open bar of beer, rum, wine and soft drinks on the way back. Bring your swimsuit, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen and a hat that can be secured — that's it. You must be able to swim.

When you book, tell us your ship and departure time. We track port schedules and plan the morning around them — in more than ten years of sailing this coast, nobody has missed a ship.

Rather celebrate than snorkel?

If your ship stays late, the afternoon Dinner at Sea (departs 3:00 PM) and the sunset aperitivo cruise (boarding 4:30 PM) are open to cruise guests whenever the timing works — check your all-aboard time first. Or compare all boat trips on Bonaire at a glance.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Will I make it back to my ship on time?
Yes — this is the whole design of the trip. Departures are at 8:30 and 9:00 AM, the sail is three hours dock-to-dock, and the marina is minutes from the cruise pier. Tell us your ship and all-aboard time when you book and we plan around it, with a comfortable buffer. In over ten years we haven't left anyone waving at their ship.
How do I get from the cruise terminal to the boat?
The yacht is docked at Plaza Resort Marina, 80 Julio Abraham Boulevard — a few minutes south of the cruise terminal by taxi, or a pleasant walk along the boulevard. You'll receive the exact meeting point and directions with your booking confirmation.
What if my ship skips Bonaire or the port call is cancelled?
Contact us as soon as you know — we're reasonable people and will look for a solution with you. If we have to cancel the sail ourselves (weather above 22 knots, or fewer than 8 guests), you automatically choose between a free reschedule and a full refund.
Why book directly instead of through the ship?
Smaller group, better boat, better price. Ship excursions put dozens of people on a motor catamaran; we take a small group on a genuine sailing yacht, with a guided snorkel stop, gear, light lunch and open bar — for $49. Booking direct also means you deal with the crew that actually sails you.
